To celebrate the end of term, just the weekend before study break, OC went to Hanmer Springs! The alpine spa village is just about 90 minutes drive north of Christchurch.

Pictures say a thousand words. So lets enjoy the photos and some captions! :D

For a start, we had coffee and cards in Waipara cafe while waiting for Lisa, a visitor from AIESEC UK who joined us to Hanmer Springs.

Looks like the owner of the cafe is an avid caps collector! ;p

After checking into our cozy holiday house, we visited the famous Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa.

From left: Lisa, James, Shane, IngChia, Chris.

No photo in the pool whatsoever as camera is not waterproof. :s

4 hours later (no kidding, we did soak for 4 hours!)...

our chefs prepared...

delightful salads for...

dinner!

Surely we had sausages and beers! :D

Also thanks to...

the "log-burner-man" who kept us warm throughout the night! ;p

The night was filled with movie, cards and alcohol. Our visitor was drunk!

She got the "K" twice! Lol.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The adventure began the next morning!

Walking along the steep hilly track, climbing up and crawling down the mountain, we reached the...

magnificent waterfall! :)

Phew, such a relieve! It was a 2.5 hours returns walk by all means!

Moment to remember.

Beautiful alpine setting, be inspired and ready for our next journey!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you sure?

Are you ready?

A supposingly 700m walk to the cave, we ended up...

crossing the farms, walking the steep uphill (again!)...

over rocks, tussocks...

After a 2.2km exploration walk, we found what we were looking for!

Maori carving and drawings! ^_^

Obviously we were tired too!

The drawings was something unique. The searching was worthwhile after all! :D

The most valuable treasure that we have is...

the friendship, bond, and passion that we shared.

That's the everlasting drawing in our heart! :D :D :D
